What does a zero mean in PowerSchool? |
A zero means that the assignment has been collected, graded, and returned and your student's assignment was not turned in.
|
How often do you update PowerSchool? |
I usually update grades every day but once a week at the least. Citizenship grades are updated multiple times throughout the quarter.
|
What do the citizenship scores mean? |
Citizenship scores are on a 1-5 scale. A score of 1 or 2 means that your student is exhibiting exceptional classroom behavior AND participating at a high level. A score of 3 means that your student is participating at an average level AND/OR requires periodic reminders of the classroom expectations. A score of 4 or 5 means that your student frequently chooses not to participate in the classroom AND requires frequent redirections.
|
What should my student do if they are absent? |
All of the assignments for the week are posted on the classroom website and are available for students to work on independently. Your student should check the schedule on the website, watch any of the videos that are available for the lesson, and schedule a time to meet with me if needed.
|
How will I know my student's progress in your class? |
PowerSchool is a great start to get a glimpse at your students performance in my class. This will provide their grade as well as their citizenship score. I will send home a Pre-VOE form in instances where students choose to not make good choices. This form is the initial communication, and needs to be returned with a signature.
